RIYADH - Interior Ministry security spokesman Lt. Col. Talal al-Shulob stressed that there would be no need to impose more stringent measures or curfews if precautions and precautionary protocols are adhered to to prevent the spread of the corona virus. 



In response to a question from Okaz / Saudi Gazette's Amal Al-Saeed at a press conference here on Sunday, the spokesman said that the implementation of measures like curfew depends on strict compliance or relaxation by the people in implementing these measures against the epidemic. 



Citizens, residents and visitors have the matter in our hands. I hope that the decisions made by the government agencies will be discussed and the community members will work in parallel with the efforts of the government agencies in this regard.



Al-Shalohab revealed that a total of 47,335 protocol violations were detected in all parts of the country during the past week, an increase of 48% over the previous week.



 "Riyadh topped the list with 19,104 violations, representing 40 per cent of the total violations, while the Najran region recorded the lowest number with 251 violations," he said.



 The spokesman renewed his call for full compliance by all members of the Society.



 He said those arrested included some rumor mongers and those who were negligent in enforcing the precautionary measures. He was found to be involved in spreading his violations through social media platforms and websites, "he said, adding that all legal action has been taken against him.



The ministry spokesman urged all people to report any violation of precautionary measures by calling toll free number 999 in all areas of the state and toll free number 911 in Riyadh and Makkah.


Violations can also be reported to the following government agencies overseeing the private sector, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (1991), the Ministry of Health (937), the Ministry of Commerce (1900), and the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Affairs.
