Riyadh: The Saudi Arabian cabinet on Tuesday approved the issuance and renewal of a residence permit (Iqama permit) and issued a work permit for a minimum period of three months.



 However, domestic workers and related professional categories are exempt from the measure, the Saudi Press Agency reported, citing a cabinet statement.


Fees and financing required for work renewals and residence permits can be paid accordingly.


 The Cabinet also abolished the Diplomatic Quarters Authority and its organizational arrangements in Riyadh and transferred all its missions, plans, rights, responsibilities, and personnel to the jurisdiction of the Royal Commission for Riyadh.



 The Cabinet considered the Public Investment Fund's strategy for the next five years, which was approved by the Fund's Board of Directors, headed by the Crown Prince, to focus on economic growth, rising living standards, and achieving a life-aspiring state. The concept of comprehensive and sustainable development in diverse traditional and modern fields is an important pillar in achieving ambitions.



 The Cabinet noted that it also caters to its large investment and economic achievements that have enabled it to reach key strategic goals and place it in a prominent place on the world map and in major markets. Established an independent fund capable of investing and managing capital.



 The cabinet also praised the vision for a prosperous future for the kingdom, as the crown prince described in his speech. The Council said in a statement that PIF would assist in the development process, and continue to grow and diversify the economy through a number of goals.

More than 257,000 foreign(Expatriate) Exit in the Saudi job market in 3 months.



Riyadh - A total of 257,170 Expats workers left the Saudi job market in the 3rd quarter of 2020. According to the latest figures is released via the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT). The total no. of non-Saudi workers(Expatriates) rose to 10.2 million in the 2nd quarter of 2020 from 10.46 million workers.



 On the other hand, in the third quarter of 2020, the number of Saudi employees increased by about 82 82,000 workers, bringing the total number of Saudi employees to about 3.25 million, compared to 3.17 million in the second quarter of 2020.



 The decline in the number of foreign(Experts) workers reduced the total no. of workers in the UK by about 17 175,000, reaching 13.46 million workers in the 2nd quarter of 2020, compared to around 13.63 million workers. ۔


NO. of work visas issued during the third quarter of last year increased by 23,000. The total No. of work visas issued in the 3rd quarter reached 72,400, compared to 49,600 in the 3rd quarter of 2020.


The 2nd quarter of 2020 saw lockdowns and restrictions on travel to and from the kingdom as part of the government's efforts to stem the spread of the novel COVID-19. The 3rd quarter of 2020 saw a 56 percent decrease in the number of work visas issued to the public sector by about 6,600 visas, bringing its total to 11,800 visas in the 2nd quarter of 2020.  On the other hand, there has been a significant increase in visas issued to the individual sector, an increase of 265%, reaching nearly 20,800 visas in the 2nd quarter of 2020, compared to 5,700 in the previous quarter.
