Corona vaccination is mandatory for Hajj in 2021: Saudi Minister of Health
Saudi Arabia's Minister of Health, Tawfiq al-Rubayeh, has instructed that the acceptance of pilgrims to this year's Hajj is linked to the receipt of the corona vaccine, which is a prerequisite for participation in the Hajj in 2021.
Al-Rubayeh said that all the participants and direct staff would be required to form a vaccination committee for the vaccine before the Hajj season in July.
He added that the authorities should secure the necessary manpower to run health facilities at the entrances to Makkah, Madinah and other Hajj pilgrims.
The obligation to take the corona vaccine for those wishing to participate as of this year is a basic condition for participating in the Hajj season.
However, it is not yet clear whether migrants from outside the country who carried the corona vaccine this year are allowed.
Last year, Saudi Arabia allowed only domestic pilgrims to visit, including Saudi nationals and foreigners residing in the kingdom.
