Saudi citizen’s and residents Digital ID card launched

Riyadh - The Interior Ministry, representing the Citizenship Department, has launched an electronic version of the Saudi national identity card.  According to the Saudi Press Agency, electronic identification under the name "Digital ID" will be available on the smartphones of citizens through the "Abshar Individual" service of the ministry's Abshar portal application.

Mohammad Al-Jassir, a spokesman for Civil Status, said the digital identity would help in the process of verifying the identities of citizens who have it if they do not have their original identity cards.

Beneficiaries will be able to view ID data electronically via the variable QR code of the Abshar Individual application. Beneficiaries will be able to take advantage of it without having to connect to the Internet.  You can download a copy of the digital ID on the device.

Al-Jassir said the Ministry of Digital Identity's "Absher Individual" would be a turning point in promoting electronic transactions for people in relevant fields.

The Civil state Department, in collaboration with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, launched the "Digital ID" service, represented by the National Information Center.
