Now, under Saudi law, passengers will be stopped at airports and seaports if they try to leave the kingdom without paying a traffic fine.

Colonel Engineer Ali Al-Zahrani said that this law will be applicable from November 1, 2019 on all vehicles whose number plates belong to Gulf countries including Kuwait.

People who have failed to pay their traffic fines and have a pending challan against their stay will be stopped at the state border.

These rules have been implemented since November 1, 2019.

These standards will be monitored at all external ports and air terminals. Anyone who has not paid a single penalty will not be allowed to obtain a final exit visa unless they pay for it.

Under the guidance of the Interior Ministry, traffic violators will be stopped at the ports of El Riga, Khafji and Batha starting November 1, whose fines have not yet been cleared.

This law has been enacted to reduce the incidence of traffic violations. Also, foreigners will not be issued "visas and residency" if their sponsors have not paid their fines.

Finally, an exit visa stamp will not be affixed to a foreigner's passport unless he has paid all his traffic violation fines.
