Expat engineers now need to clear a test before entering Saudi Arabia



Riyadh - Saudi Arabia has decided to take professional tests for non-Saudi engineers who want to come to the kingdom on new job visas.



 Senior officials of the Education and Training Evolution Commission. And the Saudi Council of Engineers (SEC) has discussed ways to conduct professional exams for non-Saudi engineers.




 The move is in line with the SCE's directive to Acting Minister for Local Government and Rural Affairs Majid Al-Haqil to conduct professional tests to ensure the quality of engineering for non-Saudi workers to protect society.



 The Minister also stressed the need to review the educational qualifications and practical experience of foreign engineers working in the state.



 The commission said the new engineers would need to clear a test before entering Saudi Arabia. The commission will be co-sponsored by the commission's strategic global partner Pearson VUU.


Pearson VUE offers to innovative computer-based solutions through secure and electronic test delivery and certification and licenses. 


 It may be recalled that the Commission and the SCE had signed a Memorandum of Understanding last year aimed at building national professional standards for the engineering professions formulated by the SCE.
